Dr. Christy Hunter PhD
Dr. Christy Hunter is a Pharmacist Scientist and Clinician who holds a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Brighton and a DPhil in Bio-Organic Chemistry from the University of Sussex. His research interests lies at the multidisciplinary interface of pharmacy, chemistry and pharmaceutical sciences. Over the last 25 years, his work has been focused on Drug Delivery and Nanomedicine unravelling the mechanistic basis of polymer and nanoparticle immunotoxicology for theoretical and clinically applied nanomedicines to improve safety. He has also worked extensively in the development of green chemical solutions for chemical functionalization and stereochemical isolation using microorganisms. His research has been widely published resulting in over 100 research publications. His academic career has been in Schools of Pharmacy at the Universities of Brighton, Manchester, Leicester and Lincoln. His clinical work involves development and application of miniaturised technology for rapid triage in the community pharmacy setting. He is a Charted Chemist and Fellow of both the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and Royal Society of Chemistry.
